Home purifying process:
There are a few stages water goes through to be purified.

First the water is softened the reduce calcium build-up in the shower, washer and dryer, water-heater, and fixtures. Most modern softeners are digitally monitored and the only thing they require from you, the homeowner, is to keep an eye on the salt/potassium level in the brine tank.

Next it goes through a carbon filter which takes out gasses that are dissolved in the water; around here the main gas in our water is chlorine (which is a carcinogen).

The final stage is the Reverse Osmosis system under the sink which is four-stage unit that takes out anything the carbon filter and the softener missed giving you fresh tasting pure water.

Commercial purifying process:
There are many components that go into purifying water. We first need remove any large suspended particles (rust, sand, etc.) with a sediment filter. The next thing we need to do is to soften the water. To do this we would use a Twin 9000 conditioner that is designed to clean itself using softened water so that no untreated water comes in contact with the media, giving it a longer softening life. After the water is softened we force it through a commercial Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) filter to actually purify it. The R.O. will filter out heavy metals that are dissolved in the water along with any other impurities, giving you the highest quality water possible.
