| The Benefits of Pure Water |
In homes, hard water can and will deteriorate plumbing fixtures
and appliances, leading to premature replacement of fixtures and
pipes. As an example, when water heaters are exposed to hard water,
the dip tube will corrode and mineral deposits build up in the
tank. A plumber can charge anywhere from $80.00 to $100.00 to just
flush a water heater out. Granite and Marble counter tops are susceptible
to corrosion as well. Chrome appliances (as well as brass) collect
the calcium build-up from the water and require constant cleaning.
Removing hardness from one’s water helps save a home’s plumbing
and keeps fixtures and appliances looking like new. Another benefit
of soft water is a reduction of soaps and detergents used in the
home. Dishes will come cleaner and clothes will keep their color
longer.
When we install a softener, we will bypass outside hose-bibs so
that home owners can water plants without using softened water
unnecessarily. We can also provide one hose-bib with softened water
for washing cars, which eliminates the mineral spots one gets from
using hard water. Old softeners required salt to clean themselves,
now we use potassium which is not harmful to the body when ingested.
